Hybrid Cars Are The Immediate Future Of Automobile Industry

The upcoming technology in the automobile industry is definitely the electric cars because of the rise in the petrol prices. Daily either there is a hike in the petrol prices or an update about an upcoming hike in the petrol prices in the news. People are getting really frustrated and want to get rid of this unbearable pressure on their budgets. Number of cars running on petrol and diesel are increasing and so is the demand of petrol and diesel. Till the time demand will keep on increasing the price of these oils cannot come down. The price is not in our hand but one thing we can do is minimize the use of these oils and shift our dependence from them to the electric vehicles.

Electric vehicles are very eco friendly as they do not emit any kind of effluence in the atmosphere and also do not consume any kind of natural product which can be depleted in the coming future. Electric vehicles only run on the batteries that have been charged with the electric current. Vehicles running on electricity need not to be taken anywhere to be charged as they can be charged only at home by only plugging their socket in the plug. Maintenance on these vehicles is also very low as only the batteries have to be changed after two or three years as the get worn out.

Everything that has advantages also has some disadvantages. These cars cannot run at a very high speed and neither can be taken to long distances in a single run without charging. Electric vehicles can also help in the prevention of accidents as they don’t have a very high speed so vehicles running at a slow speed have a less chance to meet with an accident. Buying an electric car can seem a very good option but in some situations it can be very disappointing as a person may find it difficult to get his car repaired if somehow the car is not working smoothly because of less repair shops as this technology is new. Eliminating the disadvantages of the electric cars comes a new generation of cars that can run on both gas and electricity. These cars are commonly called gasoline-electric hybrid cars.

These cars are a perfect match of both the gasoline cars and the electric cars. High speed problem of electric cars is eliminated as the cars can run at a very high speed. Two really excellent examples of hybrid cars are Toyota prius and Kia optima. These cars are a perfect specimen and had been attracting a lot of customers towards hybrid cars. Prius specs are better than any vehicle in this segment and also have an aero dynamical design which gives it a futuristic look.
